When Should You Clean Your Shark Apex Uplight DuoClean?

The Shark Uplight vacuum comes with a HEPA (high-efficiency particulate air) filter, which can trap 99.9 percent of dust and particles inside the machine. This high-quality filter should last for a couple of years without any problem. However, you should clean it to improve the efficiency.

We highly recommend that you clean the foam/felt filter once every month and the HEPA filter every year or twice a year. - For Pre-motor Filters

Shark apex uplight lift-away duoclean vacuum comes with two pre-motor filters.

Step 1: Remove the dust cap from the main unit. Empty and clean the dust cup.

Step 2: Remove the filter frame. Detach the foam filter from the filter frame. The felt filter is on the filter frame.

Step 3: Rinse the filters in running water until the water is clear. You can gently squeeze the filter to remove any remaining dirt.
